Can you relate?

From Heather: 1. I see that you live in Connecticut, were you born and raised here or are you a transplant? Born and raised!

2. How would you describe your personality? I'm really just a huge lover, affectionate, simplistic, complex, sarcastic, creative, etc. I'm anything but a tempest, oh please.

3. When you started photography how old were you? I actually only recently started at the age of thirteen. But to be completely honest, my camera isn't anything special. I'm waiting until Christmas this this year so my mom can purchase me a Nikon and all kinds of lens.

4. What inspires you? Love definitely inspires me, nature, photographs of anything really. People of course are a good chunk of influence throughout my entire life.

5. Besides photography do you have any other passions? Working with hair, makeup, and clothing. And I even secretly enjoy singing, I am very in tune.

6. Do you consider yourself fashionable or a ‘fashionista’? I’d never call myself either. I don’t seek out to follow any trends or make sure I know any designers new lines religiously. I’m not a fashion snob, and never will be one. I just simply love clothes; Buying them, wearing them, dressing someone else in them, designing them, and reconstructing them.

7. Favorite designers? Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, Chloe, Michael Kors and Moschino.

8. High fashion labels or indie brands? Independent brands are more for me, but I can support high fashion also.

9. Favorite model? I can't say that I have a favorite model, but if I MUST choose, then definitely Dita Von Teese.

11. Favorite season to dress in? I love to dress out of season if anything. But I can't choose one specific season that I prefer to dress in. I'm a New England girl!

12. How many tattoos do you have? None yet, I have to wait a couple more years.

13. Piercings? I have my gauges, cartiledge, and lip. I use to have seven holes in my ear, and five in the other, but I decided to take those out. They really were unnecessary to me. Plus, I am currently waiting on my belly button which will be getting done this November.

14. What are you favorite shopspots in NYC? I honestly don't shop in NYC.

15. Favorite restaurants? Bertucci's is two thumbs up for me.

16. Quote you live by: I have a new quote refered to myself everyday basically, not just one. Lately it has been the one I say to myself all the time, "I'm alive, and still surviving." Just simple enough to keep handy in my brain.

17. The Face Hunter stops you and takes your photo, what are you wearing? Probably my floral high waisted skirt, dark green ruffled and scrunched leggings, beaded sandals, and a gold solid top. Accessories would go along with this also, but I'm not sure which piece?

18. Who is your favorite celeb style wise? Dita Von Teese. I don't appreciate celebrities like I appreciate her.

19. Define beauty: If I don’t care for someone’s personality, it doesn’t matter how attractive you are, I won’t be able to find you beautiful. The only beauty that counts is found on the inside of a person; it’s also the only beauty that really lasts.

20. What would inspired you to publish a book? All of how I've come to establish who I am more than anything, then of course my life in general, and it's running course of changes at a constant.

I. Where do you see yourself and photography 5 yrs from now? I see it becoming just a hobby more so than a career. I would like it to be a known thing for just me and my significant other to post my work framed onto white walls.

II. Favorite item in closet right now? I couldn't tell you.

III. When do you feel your best? In my signature dress style with messy hair. I don't like to appear "too done up." That or when I am bumming around the house in a band t-shirt, and Stephen's sweats. When I'm outdoors, when I'm with Stephen, when I'm in my soothing bubble bath, etc.

IV. No.1 fashion rule. Don’t follow trends. If you’re wearing something just because you see it in a magazine or on a celebrity, it’s going to show. Wear clothes you like and feel good in; you’re confidence will out shine any ring and you won’t even need accessories to turn heads.

V. What do you normally build your look around? I built my look all around my mood, and can’t match too much but can’t be completely thrown together in the dark. OCD, I know.

VI. Like to listen to: Nature, and as for music, I really enjoy Indie, Acoustic, Post-Hardcore, Grindcore, and Hardcore.

VII. What are some places you have visited on your road trips? Which one was your favorite? I really liked New York out of anywhere else that I've been. The only other places I have traveled were basically towards the south, and I'm not a fan of that.

VIII. What city you have never visited that you would love to. Paris of course.

IX. Favorite thrift stores? Goodwill or Salvation Army.

X. I cannot live without: My lover.

XI. My idol(s) are/is __________________, because ______________. Anyone who doesn’t settle for second best; who is doing what they love, regardless of their living situations; who’s passion out weighs their logic. It’s the only way to truly live.

Piecing the obvious.

From Heather: This dress that Emma Watson has on carries a lot of nice features. And first off that I need to mention is the beautiful color coral of this dress. I really admire the width of the straps because I know that I can handle thin straps and all, but I would really prefer thicker straps for one reason. The wider the straps, the smaller your shoulders will appear. I am a fan of anything that can try to shorten the width of my shoulders, I don't know about the rest of you.

Then we have the cute accessory of that rose put onto the middle, yet it isn't an "overdue it" type of rose. The black mini corset around the waist really gives Emma's shape and definition. And again, still it isn't an accessory to an outfit where you find it to be very overpowering. Lastly with the dress, we have the ruffles that kind of gives you that fairytale feel. I love how silky and shiny the whole dress appears, and with ruffles, it'll stand out even more. It is very classy, nothing short, nothing too revealing, everything is just right. And Emma looks great! Obviously the necklace is kept light, long, and simple, but it can still catch attention.

Revolutions.

I've got myself feeling poetic tonight, and it makes for a good night.

But your mouth never stopped it's repetition, you mind never crashed, your eyes never shut, your legs never came to a hault, you continually fixed yourself for either the world around you or the you around you, your hair never stopped whipping around, your style was the question of another's judgement, your neck never stopped turning, your actions always came before your thoughts, your selfish defiance..

Your body, soul, and mind are one. Mine is the same..

So do you really think you know better?

This is your ticket out, the way you are forgiven because you are just like everyone else and we all repeat one another.

Competition is shit. I have known what that all once felt like.
Competition only exists against yourself, it says that you control the bi-product in competition against others.

This is the organic decaying matter that is us as a creation of something.
This is the curiousity that has never died.

What do you reach for?

What is your current obsession?
I actually have no personal obsessions because I've learned that through having obsessions, you tend to be and make others perceive you as being unhealthy. I learned that there is absolutely no need to have any sort of obsession.

What is your weirdest obsession?
Read what I had just mentioned above. ^

What are you wearing today?
I am wearing my vintage looking necklace with a bunch of metal flowers bordered with gold. My new low v-cut spaghetti strap floral print tunic, paired with some simple white shorts and my beaded zip-up sandals. It really is a brilliant outfit if you see it in person.

What's for dinner?
I believe my brother and his girlfriend are cooking up some raviollis.

What's the last thing you bought?
Well, normally I don't buy anything myself considering that I have no money. But my mom last bought me all of my new school clothes.

What do you think about the person who tagged you?
Nobody has tagged me yet, I just made this blogspot.

That question about a fully furnished, paid-for house that everyone answers with 'Paris' or 'New York'.
I never dreamed about living in either places, but I guess you could say I am rather humiliated by this cozy ranch home that I live in with the rest of my family. Nothing special, at all. Just simple really.

What is your must-have item for summer?
I must must must have my SPF 70 sunscreen by Neutrogena, and the famous AIR CONDITIONING.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would it be?
I'm thinking Paris deserves a visit by another fan!

Who do you want to meet right now?
To meet? Oh goodness, probably Dita Von Teese. I admire her burlesque dancing skills, and style. Her personality seems to fit her and what she does very well, it is quite the inspiration.

What is your favourite piece of clothing from your own closet?
I really could not tell you that one because I don't have a favorite piece.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to actually become a dental hygienist and NOT A COSMETOLOGIST like I am going to school for.

What's your favourite magazine?
My favorite has got to be NYLON. It features a lot of the more "unrealistic" or "surreal" in it.

What do you consider a fashion faux-pas?
I don't really have a strong distaste for anything that has to do with fashion. I try to make everything work that I like, as does everyone else, right?

Describe your personal style.
I would like to say I'm that bookish vintage feminine if you will.

What are you going to do after this?
I haven't really thought about that, maybe I'll go for a walk.

Three styling tips that always work for you:
1. Always over-dress for the occasion.
2. Allowing variety of the sorts.
3. Cardigans fix a multitude of sins.

What are you proud of?
I am proud of the person that I am progressing to be, because I can't truly say that I have finished. I'll never be done learning, discovering, and growing as a person.

What do you see outside your window?
It is pitch dark outside this big ole window.

What is your favorite color?
My favorite color tends to be any type of purple. Whether it be the simple lavender shades, or even in the royal family.

What is your weakness?
My weakness has got to be apologies and sincerity. I'm a sweet lover for words so any sort of complimenting can really get to me also.

What animal would you be?
I would really like to live a day as a fish, any kind. I'm really interested with sea life.

What would you like to learn how to do?
If I had the time, and patience, then I would love to learn how to cook/bake. I never had an act for that, never much of a "passion" for it, but hey! Isn't it something time consuming and entertaining to try?

What do you want to never happen in life?
Well, I wouldn't want nothing to happen. That would be horrible, if there really was such a possibility as nothing existing.

What is on your bedside table?
A paper cup filled with what was milk for my Nilla wafers, a large ruby candle, a pink mini fan, a beautiful beaded white lamp, a dried up smooshed starfish that my significant other found along our walk at 2am at the beach, a white candle in a cute candle holder, and an incense burner.

What was your favorite children's book?
I'm not sure, I can't remember actually.

What did you want to be as a child?
I believe I wanted to be a veterinarian?

What did you dream about last night?
Oddly enough, I had a light on and off sleep pattern the other night, so I didn't have any dreams that I can remember.

Which do you prefer, day or night?
I can really do fine with both, it just depends on a lot of things.

What would you like to get your hands on right now?
Stephen, my significant other.

What is your must-have of the moment?
More Nilla wafers of course, ha.

What's your favorite tea flavor?
Rhubarb tea!

What are you looking forward to?
Sunday night being spent with Stephen, and then our trip to Lake Compounce for a day with my mother.

Meet Me in Paris.

From Heather: Today I found myself to be independent, free on a Saturday afternoon with my parents both out for dinner and a concert. My brothers were at the house drinking and getting drunk with one another, just being obnoxious in general. Without a doubt, I knew I had to get out of there, so I grabbed my z650 Kodak, Matrix phone, Twisted Tea, and Betseyville bag, and was on my way down the long quaint road that I live on. It was full of golden sunshine considering that it was around 5:30pm when I had left.

I hadn't even walked for five minutes when I just had to stop, set my camera up, and take photos of me in this lovely outfit. There is truthfully a lot to say about this top that I recently bought at Charlotte Russe last Wednesday. You know how sometimes you can just sense that something on a hanger will fit to your body type absolutely perfectly? Well, this is one of those rare gems for me. No longer did I need to shovel through the racks looking for an XS, when a S was right there! I tried it one in the fitting room just to be sure, and what do you know? It looked fabulous! The sleeves of this are quarter lengths, and they flow out like wings (sort of making it appear that I am an angel, ha!) Then we have the crochet/lace halfway on the ribcage and necklace all the way to the back and around.

The material isn't exactly soft, it is almost like itty bitty cringles. And the length really makes it perfect to wear with shorts, jeans, cutoffs, capris, or even leggings. What really tickles my fancy is how this happens to be really one of the very few white tops that ACTUALLY works well against my fair skin.

And of course here we have those two necklaces that I recently bought. The owl one is from Charlotte Russe, and it really kind of pulls together any outfit I wish to wear. It isn't a very large pendant or anything, but it is just so adorable. I was also a fan of the eiffel tower with rhinestones when I saw it at Forever 21. Ah, how I love cheap jewelry, sometimes it really doesn't matter of the price.

And to top it all off, the beaded sandals. They're my new favorite. Five layers of straps full of just colorful and decorative beads make fun for any outfit. It gives a down to earth summer feel. They really just explain themselves, see?

Betsey Johnson-tarian.

From Heather: I can easily say that I admire Betsey Johnson's work as a whole. I see that she expresses her imagination through her work of designing clothes, handbags, etc. Despite some of her more "obnoxious" themes, for some reason the print on this bag really attracted me.

My first reaction was, "Oh, now what would I wear to go along with this?" But now I've realized that I can stop thinking so hard and become less determined on perfecting the black and white polka dot print and mustard yellow bows to match something in my wardrobe. This bag is actually an older model, so I bought it a lot cheaper than expected. They usually run in the two or even three hundreds, but I found it for one hundred and ten dollars!

I was really excited about the size of the bag almost more than any other part of the bag. I'm really a girl looking for her space, so this did it for me. I also found the gold lightening bolt zipper to be a really cute and signature detail on any Betsey Johnson handbag. And honestly, I use to have a distaste for gold, but I'm learning to open up more to certain colors that I use to have a different feel for a couple years back.

So yeah, this bag is a new favorite to my wardrobe, I hope you enjoy it.
